References in many bibliographies are sometimes referred to as "Surname, I", so the citations of academics whose Surname and initials are the same may occasionally interfere. This problem is often the case with citation indexes all over the world.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Aktaş Village, one of the central villages of the Uşak province, is about 18 km northwest of the city center. In the Aktaş Village there is a mosque dated the late Ottoman, early Republic periods, four fountains and a washing room. The Aktaş Camii, built in 1893-94, is covered with a roof of wooden construction. At the center of the roof a cube was placed. Minare is in the northwest corner of Harim. Aktaş Camii is built with metal material with cutting, cabbage, moloz stone species. Cami is covered with a broken roof covered by a Marseille-type curtain. The latter church site is decorative striped bands with wall surfaces, harim walls and covered with decorations of plant, geometric and paper character. Aktaş Village Camii is a typical example in rural architecture of the period called the Westernization period in the Anatolian Turkish art, with the cotton decorations that are frequently seen in the western Anadolu mosques and the cotton cubic cover. Although it is one of the rural architectural structures, Aktaş Camii is one of the special examples because it continues with both the Servak examples and regional characteristics in the West Anadolu, the wood roof-covered coversystem, the plan phantom, the architectural details, the wealth of the late Ottoman period pencil decoration repertoire. The continuation of the form of this plan and the understanding of decoration in rural architecture makes it clear that the same master and artist group carries the regional characteristics to every city and countryside, or that the design style is spread through the search for these master groups or workshops. The lack of sufficient names and documents on the master and artists will become clear with more detailed research to be done in the area. The plan scheme and decoration applied in the city center and villages of the servant is remarkable in terms of the city and region's understanding of the architecture and decoration of that period. With the characteristics we try to present, Aktaş Camii is a beautiful example of the period called the Westernization period in Anadolu Turkish art.

Abstract:

Aktaş Village, which is one of the central villages of Uşak province, is about 18 km northwest of the city center. Aktaş Village has one mosque, four fountains and one laundry which are dated to the late Ottoman and early Republican periods. In the Aktas Mosque, which was built in 1893-94, the sanctuary with the transverse rectangular plan is covered with a wooden construction ceiling. A plasterboard dome is attached to the center of the ceiling. The minaret is located in the northwest corner of the sanctuary. Aktaş Mosque has been built with cut, pitch-faced, rubble stone types and bricks. The mosque is covered with a hipped roof that is covered with Marseille type tiles. The decorative sliced arches and wall surfaces of the last congregation site, the walls of the sanctuary and the cover are decorated with botanic, geometric and textured hand-drawn ornaments. The Aktaş Village Mosque is a typical example of rural architecture in the period which is called as the period of westernization in Anatolian Turkish art with its plasterboard wooden domed cover and the ornamental decorations frequently seen in Western Anatolian mosques. Especially Aktaş Mosque, even though it is one of the rural architectural structures, is one of the special examples with its wooden ceiling plasterboard domed cover system, plan design, architectural details, rich late Ottoman period ornamental decorations repertoire, as it maintains both Uşak examples and regional characteristics. The continuation of both the plan shape and the ornament approach in rural architecture brings to mind that the same master and artist group carried the characteristics of the region to almost every city and countryside, or that the style of decoration spreaded through these master groups or workshops. The lack of sufficient names and documents about the masters and artists will be clarified with more detailed researches to take place in the region. The plan and ornamentation applied in Uşak city center and villages is remarkable in point of showing the city's and the region's architectural and ornamental approach in that period. Aktaş Mosque is a beautiful example of the period called as the period of westernization in Anatolian Turkish art with its characteristics we’re trying to introduce.
