Abstract:

In this study, it was aimed to determine the relation between preservice science teachers’ 21st century learner skills with learning formats, learning styles and multiple intelligence fields. The sample of 318 preservice science teachers studying in the third and fourth grades of the science teaching department of the faculties of education of three public universities constitutes a sample of the study. In the study, "21st Century Learner Skills Scale”, “Kolb Learning Styles Inventory”, and “Multiple Intelligence Inventory” were used as data collection tools. The data obtained from the scales were analyzed with simple linear correlation, ANOVA and simple regression analysis. According to the findings obtained from the research, it was determined that the preservice science teachers' learning formats and multiple intelligence fields predicted 21st century learning skills. In addition, there was no difference between the preservice science teachers' learning skills in the 21st century according to their learning styles. According to the results obtained in the research, the preservice science teachers' 21st century skills can be given by applying different learning models/methods/techniques according to their interest in multiple intelligence fields and learning formats.
