1950’lerden itibaren Türkiye’nin milli davalarından biri haline gelen Kıbrıs meselesinin kökeni, Kıbrıs’ı da Büyük Yunanistan’ın sınırları içerisinde gösteren 1796 tarihli “Megali İdea” haritasına dayanmaktadır. Meselenin özü, Rumların Enosis emellerine karşı Kıbrıs Türklerinin varolma mücadelesidir. 1959 yılında yapılan Zürih ve Londra antlaşmaları neticesinde, 16 Ağustos 1960’ta, Kıbrıs Cumhuriyeti kurulmuştur. Rumların 21 Aralık 1963 tarihinden itibaren “Akritas” soykırım planını devreye sokmaları üzerine ada fiilen ikiye bölünmüştür. BM Güvenlik Konseyi’nin 4 Mart 1964’te aldığı bir kararla Kıbrıs’ta, BM Barış Gücü kurulmuş, Kıbrıs Hükümetinden de şiddet ve kan dökülmesini önleyici önlemleri alması istenmiştir. Bu karar Rum Yönetiminin meşru Kıbrıs Hükümeti olarak tanınmasına ve Kıbrıs Türk toplumunun da asi bir topluluk olarak görülmesine neden olmuştur. Rumlar 1 Mayıs 2004’de Avrupa Birliği’ne girmiş ve Avrupa Konseyi ile Avrupa Parlamentosunda da temsil hakkı kazanmışlardır. Rumlar kazandıkları bu hakları ve tek başlarına sahiplendikleri devleti federasyon olarak paylaşmayı istememektedirler. Tarihi gerçeklerin, verilen mücadelenin ve yaşanılan acıların genç kuşaklara aktarılması, ders alınarak aynı acıların bir daha yaşanmaması için gereklidir. Bu makalede, bugüne kadar süren çözümsüzlüğün asıl sebebinin Rumların Enosis hedefleri olduğunun bilinmesi ve bu maksatla uygulamaya koydukları Akritas soykırım planının kamuoyuna anlatılması hedeflenmiştir. O günlere ait yazılı kaynaklar ve gazete haberleri incelenerek alınabilecek dersler ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır.
The origin of the Cyprus issue, which has become one of Turkey’s national cases since the 1950s, is based on the 1796 map of the “Megali Idea” which shows Cyprus within the borders of Greece. The essence of the issue is the struggle of the Cypriot Turks against the Emiles of Enosis of the Romans. As a result of the 1959 Zurich and London treaties, on 16 August 1960, the Republic of Cyprus was established. Since 21 December 1963, the island has been divided into two parts after the Romans launched the “Akritas” genocide plan. By a resolution of the UN Security Council of 4 March 1964, the United Nations Peace Force was established in Cyprus and the government of Cyprus was asked to take measures to prevent violence and bloodshed. This decision has led to the recognition of the Rom Government as a legitimate Cyprus Government and the view of the Cyprus Turkish society as an assy community. The Romans joined the European Union on 1 May 2004 and gained the right of representation in the Council of Europe and in the European Parliament. The Romans do not want to share the rights they have earned and the state they own alone as a federation. The transfer of historical facts, the given struggle and the suffered suffering to the young generations is necessary to ensure that the same suffering is not experienced again. This article aims to know that the main cause of the unresolution that has so far occurred is that the Romans are the Enosis targets and to inform the public of the Acritas genocide plan they put into practice for this purpose. It was attempted to reveal the written sources of those days and the newspapers that could be studied.
