Abstract:

Social-based tourism (TTT) aims to ensure that the local people living in rural areas are aware of the decisions taken regarding tourism, to participate in tourism, to benefit from the earliest tourism income and to protect local cultures. In this study, it is intended to reveal the perceptions of the local people towards social-based tourism. The research area was identified as the Kuyucak Village where the "Lavanta Kokulu Village" project took place. The study was easily used by the sampling method and the data was collected through the survey and reached 152 people. According to the purpose of the study, data analysis was used; frequency analysis, factor analysis, Mann-Whitney U and Kruskall Wallis tests. The study found that the environmental protection subdimensions of TTT differ significantly from age to age. It is also determined that the overall social-based tourism perception and the socio-economic subdimensional dimension of TTT significantly vary according to the income level. The results are expected to lead to future studies.
