Okul Yöneticilerinin Liderlik Davranışları ile Psikolojik Danışmanların Örgütsel Narsisizmleri Arasındaki İlişkinin İncelenmesi

Örgütsel narsisizm düzeyi yüksek olan bir psikolojik danışmanın sunacağı hizmetlerde, birey odaklı bir anlayıştan ziyade örgüt başarısı odaklı hizmet vermesinin beklenen bir durum olduğu belirtilebilir. Ancak psikolojik danışma ve rehberlik hizmetlerinde ise toplumun ve kurumun beklentilerinin karşılanmasının yanında bireyin ihtiyaçları da göz ardı edilmemektedir. Dolayısıyla psikolojik danışmanların sahip olacağı örgütsel narsisizm davranışlarının, yapılacak psikolojik danışma ve rehberlik hizmetlerini olumsuz yönde etkileyebileceği düşünülmektedir. Bu araştırmada, okul yöneticilerinin liderlik davranışları ile psikolojik danışmanların örgütsel narsisizmleri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi genel amaç olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırma, 2019-2020 Eğitim-Öğretim Yılı’nda Giresun, Rize ve Trabzon’da görev yapan 154’ü kadın, 131’i erkek olmak üzere toplam 285 psikolojik danışman ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplamak amacıyla ‘’Okul Müdürlerinin Paternalist Liderlik Davranışları Ölçeği’’, ‘’Örgütsel Narsisizm Ölçeği’’ ve ‘’Kişisel Bilgi Formu’’ kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda, psikolojik danışmanların örgütsel narsisizm düzeyleri ile okul müdürlerinin yardımsever, otoriter ve çıkarcı liderlik davranışları arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı ve bir ilişki bulunurken, ahlâkî liderlik davranışları ile anlamlı bir ilişki bulunamamıştır.

Review of the relationship between school managers’ leadership behaviors and psychological consultants’ organizational narcissisms

In the services offered by a psychological consultant with a high level of organizational narcissism, it can be pointed out that it is expected to provide a success-focused service rather than an individual-focused understanding. But in psychological consulting and guidance services, in addition to meeting the expectations of the society and the institution, the needs of the individual are not neglected. Therefore, it is believed that the organizational narcissistic behavior that psychological consultants will have may negatively affect psychological consulting and guidance services. In this study, the study of the relationship between the leadership behaviors of school managers and the organizational narcissism of psychological counselors was defined as a general purpose. The study was conducted with a total of 285 psychological consultants, including 154 women and 131 men, who worked in Rize and Trabzon in the 2019-2020 Education-Teaching Year. For the purpose of collecting data, the study used the "Paternalist Leadership Behavior Scale" of the school directors, the "Organized Narcissism Scale" and the "Personal Information Form". The study found that psychological consultants had a positive and meaningful relationship between organizational narcissism levels and school managers’ helpful, authority and exciting leadership behaviors, but they had no meaningful relationship with moral leadership behaviors.

A school psychological counselor with a high tendency to organizational narcissism is expected to provide organizational success-oriented service rather than an individual-oriented approach. However, in the psychological counseling and guidance services, the needs of the individual are not ignored as well as meeting the expectations of the society and the institution. Therefore, the high level of organizational narcissism tendencies that school psychological counselors will have may affect psychological counseling and guidance services negatively. It has been evaluated that the tendencies of organizational narcissism and school administrators' leadership behavior may be related. From this point of view, in this study, it was determined as a general purpose to examine the relationship between the organizational narcissism tendencies of school counselors and the leadership behavior that they perceive in school administrators. The research was conducted in 2019-2020 academic year with a total of 285 school psychological counselors, 154 of whom were women and 131 of whom were men, working in Giresun, Rize and Trabzon. In order to collect data in the research, "Headmasters' Paternalistic Leadership Behaviors Scale”, "Organizational Narcissisms Scale" and "Personal Information Form" were used. As a result of the research, while there was a positive relationship between the organizational narcissism tendencies of school counselors and the benevolent, authoritarian and exploitative leadership behaviors perceived in school administrators, there was no significant relationship with moral leadership behavior.
