İnsanlığın inanma ihtiyacından doğan kökleri mitik dönemlere kadar uzanan kutsal değerler, kutsal mekânlar ve keramet ehli olarak görülen veli/evliya tipi Anadolu’nun birçok bölgesinde varlık göstermektedir. Bu inançlar yöreden yöreye bazı değişiklikler içerse de benzer kültür temellerinden beslendiklerinden benzer ihtiyaçlara da cevap verirler. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın konusunu teşkil eden kutsal mekânlar, Mardin özelinde veli tipiyle bağlantılı olarak “yatır”/”türbe” şeklinde adlandırılan veli kişilerin mezarlarının etrafında gelişen rivayetleri kapsamaktadır. Fakat Mardin’de söz konusu veli kültünden bağımsız olarak da bazı mekânların halk tarafından kutsal kabul edildiği gözlemlenmiştir. Çalışmanın konusunu, söz konusu kutsal mekânlar etrafından oluşan evliya menkıbeleri kadar zamanla kutsallık kazanan mekânlar etrafında oluşan efsaneler de oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın sahasını Mardin il merkezi ve yakın ilçeleri oluşturmaktadır. Saha çalışmasından elde edilen metinlerin bir kısmı katılımcı gözlemci ve gözlemci konumunda tarafımızdan gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bir diğer kısmı da lisans öğrencileri tarafından gerçekleştirilmiş ve tarafıma yazılı olarak iletilmiştir. Çalışmada yer alan metinlerle ilgili gerekli bilgi ve izinler hem kaynak kişi hem de derlemecilerden temin edilmiştir. Derleme metinlerinin altında derlemeci ve kaynak kişi bilgileri mevcuttur. Söz konusu menkıbe ve efsaneler incelendiğinde, bunların eski Türk inanç ve gelenekleriyle temellendiği görülmektedir. Fakat günümüzde bu temellerin, pratikleri gerçekleştiren kaynak kişiler tarafından unutulmuş olduğu tespit edilmektedir. İslam inancı, diğer semavi dinler ve eski Türk inançlarının günümüzde yeni bir boyut kazandığı ve söz konusu kutsal mekânların halkın yine başka bir boyutta manevi ihtiyaçlarını karşıladıkları merkezlere dönüştüğü tespit edilmiştir.
The roots of humanity’s need for faith, which extend to the mythical periods, are sacred values, holy places and the worship-type, which are seen as the worshippers, exist in many regions of Anatolia. These beliefs include some changes from place to place, but they also respond to similar needs that they feed from similar cultural foundations. In this context, the holy places that make up the subject of the work cover the rivers that develop around the tombs of the nobles who are called in the form of "eatir"/"turbe" in connection with the type of noble in the particular Mardin. But in Mardin it is observed that some places, regardless of the respective worship, are considered holy by the people. The subject of the study is also the legends that form around the places that gain holiness over time, as well as the marriages that are formed around these holy places. The area of work is formed by the Mardin province center and nearby districts. Some of the texts obtained from the field work were performed by us in the position of participating observers and observers. The other part was also carried out by the bachelor’s students and transmitted by me in writing. The necessary information and permissions regarding the texts included in the study have been provided from both the source person and the editors. Under the editing texts, the editing and source personal information is available. When it is studied, it seems that these are based on ancient Turkish beliefs and traditions. But today, these foundations are found to be forgotten by the source persons performing the practices. It has been found that Islamic faith, other semavi religions and ancient Turkish beliefs have gained a new dimension today, and that these holy places have become the centers where the people again meet their spiritual needs in a different dimension.
