Abstract:

This study is to investigate the impact of accreditation on the health sector. In the early 2000s, private hospitals began to obtain a hospital certificate from Joint Commission International (JCI) with the aim of separating themselves from other private hospitals and revealing their differences. Since the middle of the 2000s, a significant part of the accredited hospitals have gathered under the roof of the Accredited Hospitals Association (AHD) and have begun to cooperate. The study is a sample of 47 accredited organizations operating in Turkey. The purpose of this study is to determine the meaning of accreditation that is spoken differently by organizations. The results show that the meaning in the letter and the accreditation meanings of health organizations are different.
