Bu araştırmada İlköğretim Türkçe Dersi 1-5. Sınıflar Öğretim Programı ile 2005-2006 eğitim öğretim yılından itibaren uygulamaya konulan, Ses Temelli Cümle Yöntemi STCY ile ilk okuma yazma öğretiminin değerlendirilmesi Ankara İli Örneği yapılmıştır. Araştırmada; 2005-2006 eğitim öğretim yılında, 116 ilköğretim 1. sınıf öğrencisinin, okuma yazma hızları ve okuduğunu anlama düzeyleri yönünden sekiz ay süreyle gözlenmiştir. Araştırmada tarama modeli ve gözlem tekniği gibi çeşitli model ve teknikler kullanılmıştır. Verilerin çözümlenmesinde tablolar oluşturulmuş, t testi kullanılarak elde edilen veriler yorumlanmıştır. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre STCY ile ilk okuma yazma öğrenen öğrencilerin okuma yazma hızları ve okuduğunu anlama düzeylerinin genel anlamda seviyelerinin çok üzerinde olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
5. and teaching early reading and writing with the Phoneme Based Sentence Method PBSM that has been applied basically in Ankara since the 2005-2006 academic year is presented. In the research in the 2005-2006 academic year, 116 Primary Education Grade 1 students were observed for eight months in terms of their reading and writing speeds and their comprehension skills. In this research, a variety of technique such as scanning model and observation techniques and models have been used. In the processes of interpretation of data form charts have been created and the datas, which were acquired by using variety of statistical techniques such as t test have been interpretated.According to the results of the research the reading and writing speeds and the comprehension skills of the students learning early reading and writing with PBSM were determined to be higher than their grades in general terms
