Abstract:

In this study, which was carried out as a preliminary study, the aim of the evaluation of tourism and agricultural activities, which are the key economic elements of the Nevşehir Province, is to reveal the potential of rural tourism.  It is important to take the views of the local people, which will be the most affected by the development of tourism in a region, and of the farmers living there. In this context, the views of the local people on rural tourism have been studied for the assessment of the agricultural activities in the Göynük Village, which is linked to the Avanos district of Nevşehir. According to the purpose of the research, the qualitative research method was used and data was obtained through the interview technique. The research was conducted by a semi-structured interview with 13 people living in the village and farmers. The research finds that the local people are looking positively on the development of rural tourism in the Sky Village and are ready to do efforts in this direction. The local people think tourists and tourist will contribute to the village. It has also been found that the village people are waiting for support from the governments, municipalities, universities, civil society organizations and tourism agencies to implement rural tourism in the village.
