Abstract:

Teaching books have always been a useful tool in the field of education. The influence on the nature of the educational process is clearly recognized by the curriculum books, taking a very important role in this regard. Teaching books are an important source especially in the development of the word existence of students. Students take the opportunity to encounter the elements of the word existence in the texts and events they encounter in the lesson books. Basic words, sentences, speeches, twistings, template words, terms and foreign words fall within the speeches of the word existence. In terms of the development of the word existence of students, these elements must be determined on the basis of composition, the elements used in the Turkish language must be included in the curricula and the teaching must be targeted. There are 7 Turkish lessons used at the high school level in the 2018-2019 educational year. There are different Turkish curricula books prepared by MEB Publications and private publishers for high school class levels. However, there is only one Turkish curriculum published by MEB in force for high school level 5. In this study, the five-class Turkish curriculum prepared by MEB for the fifth class level was studied in terms of the word existence. In the study, the use of the words of the existence of the book is determined. The lists of frequencies obtained compared to the lists of frequencies based on compilation have revealed how much the words used in Turkish are included. It is believed that the results obtained in the study will contribute to the field in terms of word teaching.
