Üniversite Öğrencilerinin Başarı Durumları ile Şiddete Yönelik Tutumları Arasındaki İlişkinin İncelenmesi

Abstract:

Bu araştırmanın amacı; üniversite öğrencilerinin başarı durumları ile şiddete yönelik tutumları arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Araştırma, 2018-2019 eğitim öğretim yılında Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi, Yaşar Doğu Spor Bilimleri Fakültesi öğrenim gören 145 öğrenci (70 kız, 75 erkek) üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama araçları olarak; araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan “Kişisel Bilgi Formu”, Arslan ve Akın (2015) tarafından geliştirilen“2x2 Başarı Yönelimleri Ölçeği”, Çetin (2001) tarafından geliştirilen “Şiddete Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği”kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde bağımsız gruplar için Mann Whitney U testi, ikiden fazla bağımsız gruplar için Kruskall-Wallis H testi kullanılmıştır. Öğrencilerin şiddete yönelik tutumları ile başarı yönelimleri arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek için ise Pearson Momentler Çarpımı Korelasyon katsayıları kullanılmıştır. Analizler SPSS 22.0 paket programı aracılığıyla.05 anlamlılık düzeyinde test edilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda öğrencilerin şiddete yönelik tutumları ile başarı durumları arasında ters yönde bir ilişki olduğu saptanmıştır. Buna göre şiddet eğilimi azaldıkça başarının arttığı tespit edilmiştir. Bulgular alan yazına göre tartışılmış ve ortaya çıkan sonuçlar doğrultusunda öneriler sunulmuştur.

Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to study the relationship between the state of success of university students and their attitudes towards violence. The research was carried out on 145 students (70 girls, 75 men) who studied at the University of Eighth May in the 2018-2019 educational year. As a data collection tool in the research; the "Personal Information Form" prepared by the researcher, developed by Arslan and Akın (2015)"2x2 Scale of Success Guidelines", developed by Hard (2001) has been used "The Scale of Attitude towards Violence". In the analysis of the data, Mann Whitney U test for independent groups, Kruskall-Wallis H test for more than two independent groups were used. To study the relationship between the students’ attitudes towards violence and the success orientations, Pearson Moments Collapse Correlation ratings were used. Analysis has been tested at the SPSS 0.05 meaning level through the SPSS 22.0 package program. The study found that there was a reverse relationship between students’ attitudes towards violence and their success status. As the violence tends to decrease, the success has increased. The findings are submitted according to the field text discussed and presented in accordance with the results.

The purpose of this research was to investigate the relationship between university student’s success levels and attitudes towards violence. The research was carried out on 145 students (70 girls, 75 boys) who are studying at the Faculty of Yasar Dogu Sport Sciences at Ondokuz Mayıs University in 2018-2019 academic year. As data collection tools; “Personal Information Form prepared by the researcher,“ 2x2 Achievement Goal Orientation Scale developed by Arslan and Akın (2015), and Attitude towards Violence Scale developed by Cetin (2001) were used. Mann Whitney U test was used for independent groups and Kruskall-Wallis H test was used for more than two independent groups. Pearson Correlation test was used to examine the relationship between student’s attitudes towards violence and achievement orientations. The analyzes were tested with SPSS 22.0 package program at the significance level of 0.05. As a result of the study, it was found that there was an inverse relationship between student’s attitudes towards violence and their success. Accordingly, it has been found that success increases as the tendency of violence decreases. The findings were discussed according to the literature and suggestions were made the results section.
