Bitişik Eğik Yazı Uygulaması Zorunluluğunun Kaldırılmasına İlişkin Sınıf Öğretmenlerinin Görüşleri

Yazma becerisi, ilkokulun ilk yılından itibaren kazandırılmaya çalışılan temel becerilerden biridir. Cumhuriyet’in ilanından günümüze kadar Türkçe öğretim programları incelendiğinde hem dik temel yazının hem de bitişik eğik yazının kullanıldığı görülmektedir. Yazı derslerinin amacına ulaşabilmesi için hem ilkokuldaki yazı programı hem de öğretmenlerin bu konudaki tutum ve deneyimleri önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. 2017 yılında Türkçe Öğretim Programında yapılan değişikliklerle, bitişik eğik yazı uygulaması zorunluluğunun ortadan kalkmasıyla öğretmenlere hangi yazı biçimini kullanmasıyla ilgili bir tercih yapma hakkı doğmuştur. Bu araştırma, ilk okuma yazma öğretiminde 2005 yılından itibaren uygulamaya konan bitişik eğik yazı uygulaması zorunluluğunun 2017 yılında Türkçe Öğretim Programında yapılan değişiklikle kaldırılmasına ve tercihe bırakılmasına yönelik sınıf öğretmenlerinin görüşlerini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmada, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden olgubilim (fenomenoloji) kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, Bayburt il merkezinde yer alan 29 birinci sınıf öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu, uygun örnekleme yöntemi ile belirlenmiştir. Araştırma verilerinin toplanmasında araştırmacılar tarafından oluşturulan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde sürekli karşılaştırmalı analiz yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda; öğretmenlerin, bitişik eğik yazı uygulamasının birinci sınıf yaş grubundaki öğrencilere öğretiminin zor olması ve öğrencilerinin yazdıklarının okunmaması gibi nedenlerden kaldırıldığını düşündüğü ve bu zorunluluğun kaldırılmasıyla birlikte öğretmenlerin büyük bir çoğunluğunun dik temel harflerle öğretim yapmayı tercih ettiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonunda öğretmenlerin dik temel harflerin daha etkili öğretilmesine yönelik çeşitli öneriler getirilmiştir.

Opinions of Teachers on the Elimination of the Compulsory Approaches

Writing skills are one of the basic skills that are trying to be gained from the first year of primary school. From the announcement of the Republic to the present day, when the Turkish teaching programs are studied, it is seen that both the straight basic text and the nearby curved text are used. To the purpose of the writing courses, both the writing program in the primary school and the attitudes and experiences of teachers on this subject hold an important place. In 2017, with the changes made in the Turkish Teaching Program, the right to make a choice about which form of writing teachers should use with the elimination of the obligation to apply nearby text. This research was done in order to identify the opinions of classmates on the removal and preference of the obligation to apply closely curved writing in the first reading and writing teaching from 2005 in 2017 with the modification of the Turkish Teaching Program. In the research, the methods of quality research have been used by olgubilim (fenomenology). The study group consists of 29 first-class teachers located in the center of Bayburt. The study group was determined by the appropriate sampling method. In the collection of research data, the semi-configured interview form created by the researchers was used. The method of comparative analysis is constantly used in data analysis. The study concluded that teachers thought that the practices of closely inclined writing were difficult to teach students in the first class age group and that their students did not read what they wrote, and that with the removal of this obligation, a large majority of teachers prefer to teach with straight basic letters. At the end of the study, a number of recommendations were made to teach teachers the straight basic letters more effectively.

When the Turkish teaching programs are examined from the announcement of the Republic to the day, it is seen that both the cursive writing and writing with upright basic letters are used. In order to achieve the purpose of the writing lessons, both the writing program in the primary school and the attitudes and experiences of the teachers have an important place. With the amendments made in the Turkish Curriculum in 2017, the obligation to apply the adjacent cursive writing has been lifted, and teachers have the right to choose which type of writing to use. This study was carried out in order to determine the opinions of the classroom teachers for the abolishment and preference of the cursive writing application which has been applied since 2005 in the first literacy teaching with the amendment made in the Turkish Curriculum in 2017. Phenomenology which is one of the methods of qualitative research was employed in the study. The study group of the study consist of 29 first grade primary school teachers who work in Bayburt city. The convenience sampling method was used in order to from the study group. A semi-structured interview form created by researchers was used to collect research data. Constant comparison analysis method was for data analysis. According to results teachers think that compulsory cursive writing was abolished due to some reasons such as teaching cursive writing to first grade pupils in primary schools is difficult and it is difficult to read texts written by using cursive writing. With the abolishment of this obligation most of the teachers preferred to use normal writing with upright basic letters. At the end of the study some suggestions were made to improve the quality of teaching writing.
