Farklı insanlık maceralarıyla insanı insana anlatan bir sanat olan edebiyat, edebî eserler yoluyla insanın, özellikle gençlerin yaşantılarını da zenginleştirir. Çağdaş eğitimin önemli merkez noktalarından biri olan edebiyattan yararlanma, bireyin kendisini geliştirme, iyi ilişkiler kurabilme, kendisini ifade edebilme, dil becerilerini geliştirme, kendisiyle ve çevresiyle barışık bir şekilde yaşamasını sağlama gibi özellikler bakımından bireysel gelişime katkıda bulunan önemli bir eğitim alanıdır. Edebiyat eseri, insana insandan haber veren ve bir yaşantının tanıklığını yapan sanatsal yaratıcılığın ve varoluş bilgisinin birlikteliğinden oluşan bir yapıdır. Bir öyküde, romanda, biyografide, seyahat eserinde, anı yazısında varoluşun tanıklığını yapan bir bakışla karşılaşırız. Bu, edebiyat eserlerini aynı zamanda, tarihsel ve toplumsal belgeler haline getiren bir özelliktir. İnsanı, metinle, metindeki varoluş bilgisi ve sanatsal yaratıcılık ile karşılaştırmayı amaçlayan edebiyatta bu karşılaşma “anlama” ve “empati” kavramı merkezinde gerçekleşir. Dilemek, istemek mânâsında bir kelime olan “irade”, bir şeyi yapmak veya yapmamak konusunda karar verebilme yeteneğidir. Akıl ve ruh gibi insana has özelliklerden biri olan irade gücü sayesinde insan, iyi ile kötüyü seçip yapabilme yeteneğine sahiptir. İrade eğitimi ile kişiye hem dış dünyayla ve onun zorluklarıyla mücadele etme, hem de kendi iç dünyası ile duyguları, düşünceleri ve kararlarıyla baş edebilme yeteneği kazandırılır. İradeyi güçlü kılmak, zorluklarla mücadele etmek ve hayatta başarılı olabilmek için irade eğitimine önem vermek gerekir. Edebî eserler yoluyla bu yönde olumlu davranış değişikliği meydana getirebilmek için aşamalı analitik yaklaşım oldukça önemlidir. İrade eğitimi ışığında örneklenen edebiyat karakterleri eşliğinde insana ve hayata dair metin-altı sorular kurmacanın odağında işlenerek analiz edilmeğe çalışıldığında, irade eğitimi ve pedagojik açıdan sadece Mustafa İnan’ın konu edildiği belgesel-romanda (Oğuz Atay; Bir Bilim Adamının Romanı) bile, onun gibi imkânsızlıklar içinde yetişen ve bir irade örneği sergilemiş insanların ortak hayat hikayesini bulabiliriz.

The use of literature, one of the key centers of contemporary education, is an important field of education that contributes to individual development in terms of characteristics such as the development of the individual, the ability to establish good relationships, the ability to express himself, the development of his language skills, and ensuring him to live in peace with himself and his surroundings. A literary work is a structure consisting of a combination of artistic creativity and knowledge of existence that communicates to man and testifies to a life. In a story, in a novel, in a biography, in a journey, in a memorial, we encounter a look that testifies to existence. This is a feature that makes literary works also historical and social documents. In literature, which aims to compare the human with the text, the knowledge of existence in the text and the artistic creativity, this encounter takes place in the center of the concepts of "understanding" and "empathy". To wish is the ability to decide whether to do something or not. Through the power of will, which is one of the characteristics of man like mind and spirit, man has the ability to choose good and evil. The will education gives the person the ability to fight both the external world and its challenges, as well as to cope with his own inner world with his feelings, thoughts and decisions. It is necessary to focus on will training to strengthen the will, to fight the challenges and to be successful in life. Step-by-step analytical approach is very important to make positive behavior changes in this direction through literary works. When the text-six questions about man and life, accompanied by the literary characters presented in the light of the education of will, are tried to be analyzed by processing in the center of the founder, even in the documentary-roman on which the education of will and pedagogically only the subject of Mustafa Inan (Son Atay; The Roman of a Scientist) can find the common life story of people who grow up in unlikely situations like him and show an example of will.
