Abstract:

This study was conducted with the aim of studying the recreational trends and factors that prevent foreigners living in the Egean region from participating in recreational events. The data collection tool used in the study consists of 3 sections. In the first part, the questions about the demographic information of the participants, the questions about the determination of their recreational trends in the second part, and in the third part, the scale of "Free Time Disorders" developed by Alexandris and Carroll (1997) consisting of a total of 6 subdimensions and 27 articles. The validity and reliability work for the use of the measurement in Turkey was done by Gürbüz and Karaküçük (2007). According to the findings obtained from the scale, the Cronbach Alpha value was '.91'. The statistical calculations are made in the SPSS (version 24,0) statistical program. The total number of foreigners involved in the study was 109 (31.6 percent) men and 236 (68.4 percent) women. As a result, statistical analysis results in the rise of the income levels of individuals increases the participation rates in their leisure activities, there are no obstacles to their participation in the leisure activities of individuals living in the major city, but there is no facility deficiency for individuals living in places such as the village/city, interpersonal interaction is not among the elements that prevent the leisure time.
