Araştırma hemşirelik öğrenimi gören birinci ve son sınıf hemşirelik öğrencilerinin toplumsal cinsiyet rollerine tutumları ve tutumları etkileyen faktörleri belirlemek amacıyla tanımlayıcı olarak yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, Mersin’deki bir üniversitenin Sağlık Yüksekokulu Hemşirelik Bölümü’nde öğrenim gören 193 birinci ve 108 son sınıf öğrencisi olmak üzere 301 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Araştırmanın verileri, kişisel bilgi formu ve Toplumsal Cinsiyet Rollerine İlişkin Tutum Ölçeği kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde Shapiro Wilk testi, Kruskal Wallis ve Mann Whitney U testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada birinci sınıf öğrencilerinin son sınıf öğrencilerine göre, erkek öğrencilerin kadın öğrencilere göre daha eşitlikçi tutuma sahip oldukları belirlenmiştir (p<0,05). Öğrencilerin aile tipi, anne öğrenim ve çalışma durumları ile Toplumsal Cinsiyet Rollerine İlişkin Tutum Ölçeği puan ortancaları arasındaki farkın önemli olduğu saptanmıştır (p<0,05). Sonuç olarak öğrencilerin toplumsal cinsiyet rollerine ilişkin eşitlikçi tutuma sahip oldukları saptanmıştır. Araştırmada toplumsal cinsiyet eşitsizliğine ilişkin tutumları etkileyen faktörlere yönelik öneriler geliştirilmiştir.
