Abstract:

Foreign language has become an important concept in our smaller world thanks to the advanced technology. The term "a language is a man" used in our country clearly emphasizes the importance of foreign language. The Ministry of Education and Education has made changes to the weekly curriculum of the primary education institutions (primary and secondary) with the date of 25.06.2012 and the resolution of the Council of Education and Education. The weekly curriculum of primary education institutions (primary and secondary) has begun to be implemented gradually from the first and fifth classes starting from the 2012-2013 educational and educational year. With this change, two hours of foreign language lessons per week have been included from primary school 2nd grade. For the first time in the 2013-2014 educational and teaching year, foreign language lessons began to be taught in 2nd class. The aim of this study is to study the opinions of class and English teachers about the foreign language lessons that begin to be taught from primary school 2nd grade. In this context, the opinions of class teachers and English teachers on the provision of foreign language education from 2nd class were addressed. The research is in the screening model. A total of 20 teachers, including 10 English teachers, have been interviewed. The talks were held in August 2013. A semi-configured interview with the teachers has been asked for their opinions on the subject. The interviews were recorded by the researchers on the audio recording device. The information on the audio recording device is written in the computer environment. Imaginary analysis method is used in the analysis of data. According to the study, there are differences in foreign language lessons from the second grade. It is also determined that there are different opinions about whether the course should be given by classmates or by English teachers.
