Abstract:

As a foreign language in the teaching of Turkish language, the teaching books are ranked first. The teaching books are also prepared according to different levels and each level is divided into units within itself. Each unit is divided into divisions and each section has four basic language skills within itself. Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing They are prepared to develop their skills at the same time. The principle of a comprehensive approach is based on the principle of the development of the language as a whole. Nevertheless, the ability to listen in foreign language teaching is called a language skill that is ignored by field theorists, not given sufficient attention. The study was prepared by the Yunus Order Institute, which forms the sample of the study. Seven Climate Turkish Teaching Set (YITÖS) prepared by the University of Istanbul Istanbul Turkish Teaching Set for Foreigners (YTÖS) Every level of listening text is examined in the context of the text processing periods. Each text is studied and evaluated according to the overall processing periods of the text resulting from the sum of processing times depending on both the recording periods and the level characteristics. This examination and evaluation was done on the basis of the unit and level and the results arising were made in terms of the course teaching hours recommended by stakeholders and the teaching time dedicated to listening skills. The data arising from the assessment of the relevant listening texts have been linked to meaningful results and presented in recommendations regarding the listening texts to be used in the teaching of Turkish as a foreign language. Detailed information on the text processing times of the listening texts on the subject of the study is included in the tables included in Annex 1 and Annex 2.
