As a monetary policy inflation targeting has firstly been implemented by New Zealand Central Bank in 1990 and since then has been adopted in many countries Inflation targeting had put on the agenda at the end of the 1990’s in Turkey and has still been under discussion whether it is applicable as a monetary policy In this paper the theoretical framework of inflation targeting its preconditions and strategical features are studied Inflation targeting has been compared with other monetary policy targets that has been practiced in the world and has tried to determine advantages and disadvantages sides Key Words: Inflation price stability inflation targeting monetary policy regimes
