Reşadiye Yöresinde Yas Geleneği
2012

Abstract:

Abstract:

This article is a study aimed at the study of the oral culture in which the meaning and practices of the sad tradition have been revealed. In the area of Reşadiye with the elderly, conversations and observations were made, and the field work was done in order to make the series related to the oral tradition of sadness written document. The data collected by face-to-face interviews with five participants between the ages of 65 and 75 were analyzed by content analysis method. The research findings show that the ritual of speaking about the events of military, gurt and death continues lively. Culture is defined as the way of life of society.Such a definition indicates that each society has its own culture. It seems to be one of the main factors that distinguish cultures from each other. It is in nature that culture is both changing and traditional. In communal or communal communities, the changing identity of culture is often written culture, and the traditional identity is oral culture. In traditional societies, oral culture is more effective than written culture than developed societies. Traditional reflection against change is stronger in traditional societies where verbal culture is effective. Regardless of how strong the traditional structure in societies is, the influence of change and the failure to record the verbal culture are causing great losses in the structure of the culture. The loss in verbal culture is seen in all aspects of the world's technological and economic developments accelerate further. Both the developments in this axis and the encounters of cultures in effective and unexpected environments and the efforts of cultures to influence each other have a deeper negative impact on verbal culture than written culture. Therefore, the traditional culture loses a lot of its structure because it cannot prepare itself for such interaction.
