Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to study the relationship between the leadership characteristics of students studying at the Faculty of Sports Sciences and the social problem-solving skills. In accordance with this goal, the working group of Nevşehir Hacı Bektaşi Veli, Erciyes, Ahi Evran and Dumlupınar University in the 2017-2018 educational year in the body education and sports teaching program 1. 2nd 300 volunteer students attended the 3rd and 4th classes. The research has used the Teacher Leadership Scale, Social Problem Solving Reserve and Social Demographic Information Form as a data collection tool. Points obtained from scales were analyzed with a statistical program Personal information about candidates and inventory total points were given by identifying average and standard deviation points. To identify the relationship between the scores obtained from the scores, the Pearson Moment Relationship Correlation Analysis (r) and the Multiple Regression Analysis (β) were applied to determine whether the scores obtained are interconnected. As a result, the advanced positive relationships between leadership and the problem positive orientation are identified, while the problem negative orientation, the motivational/unattentive style and the avoidance style are identified as the negative orientation. It can be said that planned studies aimed at strengthening the leadership characteristics in educational environments can make students more equipped in terms of solving social problems.
