Abstract:

In many areas of Turkish literature, the pioneer and advocate of innovation writer Shemsettin Sami (1850-1904)’s Turkish dictionary work named Kamus-i Turkî is also important for the dictionaries prepared from Turkish to French (Imaging Kamus-i Fransevî French-to Turkish Lugat, Dictionnaire Français-Turc, Illustre De 3000 gravures, bi-rinci printing 1299 /1882, then 1315, 1318, 1322 /1905), and from Turkish to Fran-basca. A teamwork is needed to bring such an important and voluminous dictionary to the re-publishing life. I thought about what I had to do for the joy of this dictionary I used during my previous dictionary work. I thought it would be possible to move on two roads. One of them is to make pleasure by preserving the dictionary as it is, without damaging the language of the work, its style. In this case, uncomprehensible words, terms, completion and similarities must be explained in parantez.The second way is to update the language of the dictionary by interfering with the language of the work. This will be a harder work.
