Abstract:

Shahrangiz are special poems written for describing the beauty of cities and providing information about the details of their beautifulness. In the Turkish literature, besides of Maksadi’s shahrangiz, there are other epic poems written for the city of Yenice by Usuli, Hayreti and Za’fi. In the first shahrangiz for Vardar Yenicesi, there are 65 couplets. There are 25 different people are praised in this shahrangiz for Vardar Yenicesi. In the second shahrangiz for Vardar Yenicesi, there are 188 couplets and 28 people are praised. The third shahrangiz of Maksadi is about Ishtip. Following to Za’fi’s shahrangiz, this was the second shahrangiz related to Ishtip in the Turkish literature. This shahrangiz also includes 22 couplets and praises ten people from the city.
