Towards the loss of the world's ecological balance in the 21st century, struggle with diseases, racism, endangered animals, civil rights, artists and designers tend towards social responsibility design works to inform community and to create awareness on social problems. This research aims to show and examine the power of social responsibility design works in order to create social awareness. In accordance with this purpose, a documentary film, a public spot, billboards and posters were created that address the issues of the street animals (cats and dogs) and give solution suggestions. The research that has been shaped with mixed research method was applied on 311 secondary school students consist of girls and boys that comprise the study sample of the research and in order to measure their awareness regarding the street animals, surveys were conducted before and after they watched the documentary. The findings that are obtained from the survey data were interpreted; and it was concluded that the graphic visual design applications within the scope of the social responsibility increases the level of awareness about the subject matter of street animals.
