Abstract:

This study is aimed at developing a scale to determine the levels of belief in the evolutionary teaching of biology teachers. The reliability and validity studies of the scale developed as a likert type have been.  The sample of the study consists of 212 candidates for biology teachers who have completed their courses in the field of biology. In order to ensure the scope of the scale validity, the area in question was scanned in summer and consulted with expert opinions. For the validity of the structure, the Opening Factor Analysis (AFA) and the Verifying Factor Analysis have been applied. For the reliability study of the measurement, the Cronbach Alfa internal consistency ratio is calculated to determine whether there is a meaningful relationship between the total correlation of the substance and the factors. The Cronbach Alfa reliability ratio for the general scale was 0.87; the general evolutionary knowledge was 0.83 for self-sufficiency; the evolutionary teaching was 0.81 for self-sufficiency. All analyses have found that the scale is a reliable and valid measurement tool in measuring the levels of belief in self-capacity for evolutionary teaching of biology teachers.
