Bu çalışma, Kurumsal Kaynak Planlaması (Enterprice Resources Planning-ERP) sistemlerinin muhasebe bilgi sistemiyle bütünleşmesi neticesinde sağlayacağı katkı ve etkilerle, sistemin daha etkin ve verimli çalışabileceğini ortaya koymaya yöneliktir. Ayrıca, bu kapsamda; ERP sistemlerinin yapısı, muhasebe bilgi sistemini teknoloji ile bütünleştirmesi ve muhasebe bilgi sisteminin verimliliği üzerine olan etkileri de açıklanmaktadır. Bu bakış açısından hareketle, ERP sistemlerinin, başta ilişkisel veri tabanı ve bilgi teknolojileri kapsamında muhasebe bilgi sistemi ile bütünleşmesinde, sistemin veri, bilgi, belge akışına, işleyişine, raporlamaya ve denetimine sağlayacağı katkıların kalitesi, verimliliği ve performansı irdelenmektedir. Bu sayede, ERP sistemlerinin muhasebe bilgi sisteminden bilgi gereksinimi duyan iç ve dış bilgi kullanıcılarının sağlıklı, doğru, güvenilir, zamanlı ve tam bilgiye zaman ve mekan sınırı olmaksızın etkin ve verimli bir şekilde ulaşmalarını sağlayacak açıklamalara ve önerilere yer verilmektedir.
