Abstract:

Marmara Denizi, Kuzey Anadolu Fay sistemi kontrolünde oluşan kıyı morfolojisi ve aşınmalı kıyı tipinin hâkim olduğu bir iç denizdir. Güney kıyıları alçak-plajlı kıyı ve yüksek falezli kıyı olmak üzere iki ayrı kıyı tipinden oluşmuştur. Ancak, kumsallar dışında genellikle dik, falezli, girintili, çıkıntılı ve birçok yerde Paleozoyik şist ve granodiyoritlerden oluşan yüksek kıyılar hâkim durumdadır. Batıda Çanakkale Boğazı girişinde yer alan Çardak Feneri’nden başlayıp, doğuda Yalova-Çiftlikköy’e kadar yaklaşık 500 km uzunluğunda kıyı kuşağında tektonik alçalmaların etkili olduğu yerlerde koylar, yükselmelerin etkili olduğu kesimlerde ise burunlar oluşmuştur. Tektonik yönden hareketli bir konumda yer alan sahanın şekillenmesinde akarsular, dalgalar ve akıntılar ile birçok yerde jeolojik ve jeomorfolojik izleri görülen genç tektonik hareketlerden Kuzey Anadolu Fayı’nın önemli etkileri olmuştur. Kıyı bölgelerinin son yıllarda insanlık ve gelecekteki gelişmeler için önemli sahalar olarak kabul edilmesi nedeniyle, bu çalışmada Marmara Denizi’nin güneyindeki yüksek kıyıların jeomorfolojik özellikleri incelenerek, ekolojik boyutu ile ilgili koruma ve kullanma yönünün kıyı jeomorfolojisi kapsamında değerlendirilmesine katkı sağlanmaya çalışılmıştır. Relief Features Of The High Coasts Of The South Marmara Sea Between Çardak – Çiftlikköy Abstract Marmara Sea is an inland sea which is dominated by the coastal morphology and the type of coastal erosional as the characteristics of North Anatolian Fault System. Southern coasts have two different coast types, the low beach coast and the high cliff. However, except for the beaches, steepy, rocky, indented, protruding, and in many places the high shores of the Paleozoic schists and granodiorites usually dominated the area. From west to east, between Çardak Lighthouse and Yalova-Çiftlikköy, there is a 500 km long coastal zone where tectonic sinks caused bays and elevations caused headlands. This is a tectonically lively area. Rivers, waves, currents and the North Anatolian Fault, as a new tectonic activity, have significant impacts on shaping this area. In recent years, coastal regions have been recognized as important areas for humanity and future developments so in this study , the geomorphological features of high coasts in the South of Marmara Sea have been examined. In this study, it is also aimed to contribute to the scope of protection and the use of coasts in terms of ecological assessment of coastal geomorphology.
