Abstract:

This study was conducted to determine the effects of different salt concentrations of irrigation water on the quality characteristics of some sorghum sudangrass cultivars. In the study irrigation waters containing 0, 4, 8, 12 and 16 dS/m salt were applied to Super Grazer, Hay Day, Grazer N2 and Greengo varieties of sorghum sudangrass. The study was carried out randomized parcel design with 3 replications in greenhouse conditions. In the research, statistically significant differences were determined in terms of dry matter content, crude protein ratio, NDF and ADF ratios of the varieties. According to the results, the highest dry matter content was determined in the Grazer N2, the lowest NDF ratio was found in the Super Grazer, Hay Day and Greengo varieties, and the lowest ADF ratio was in the Greengo variety. There was no significant differences among the cultivars in terms of crude protein contents. The dry matter content increased with increasing salt level, while the crude protein, NDF and ADF ratios decreased.
