So many results that aren't mine?

Abstract:

In respect of its location Turkey has a wide range of earthquake rates namely having 42% of first-degree seismic zone, 24% second-degree seismic zone and the 18% of third- degree seismic zone. As a result of these earthquakes, there can be much casuality. Also Zeytinburnu district is located in one of those areas. Especially the wrong settlement which does not include any planning study increases the risk higher. In this study, the analysis of the geological structure and lithology of that area, topographical features, distance to fault lines, the degree of subsurface ground water were made in the environment of ArcGIS 9.3. Hence, the effects of these variables in any earthquake example in Zeytinburnu were taken into consideration. In conclusion, the earthquake risk map was made and the precautions against any possible earthquake were examined by comparing the areas appropriate to settlement or not.
