Abstract:

The aim of this study is to study the relationship between early-term incompatible schemes and social appearance anxiety. The study was conducted in the relational scan model. The study group consists of a total of 381 university students, including 273 women and 108 men aged 17-31 years. As a data collection tool, the social appearance anxiety scale and the young scheme scale have been used. Relationships between variables have been studied through correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. According to the findings of the study, all early-term disharmonic schemes have been found to be statistically meaningful and in a positive direction associated with social appearance concern. On the other hand, the regression analysis resulted in determining which schemes affect social appearance anxiety and found that only emotional absence, intolerance, necklace, seeking approval, justification and frustration in the early term disharmonic schemes of university students have significantly affected social appearance anxiety levels.
