Abstract:

18th century has been one of the most troublesome eras for Turkmen people. Iranian and Hives attacks, domestic controversies and transition to sedentary life were some of the reasons of the troubles. Additionally the lack of a sovereign and powerful state made it more difficult to cope with the problems. Mahtumkulu wished to set up a Turkmen state and he was aware that to realize this aim, unity of Turkmen’s tribes was required. That’s why the ideal of “Unity of Turkmens” is one of the important themes of his poems. The role of Mahtumkulu’s efforts and poems is very vital in soon-realized Turkmen unity. He has got lots of poems as a output of the are he has lived
