So many results that aren't mine?

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between emotional intelligence skills and self-esteem in decision making and decision making styles and to determine the predictive power of emotional intelligence skills on self-esteem in decision making and decision-making styles of university students. General survey model was employed in this study. The working group of this study composed of totally 321 students, 184 women (57,3 %) and 137 man (42,7%), attending education faculty ,department of computer education and instructional technologies at a state university in Central Anatolia Region, Turkey. The mean age of the participants is 19.09 (Sd=1.80). Bar-On Emotional Intelligence Inventory and Melbourne Decision-Making Questionnaire (MDMQ I-II) were conducted to the participants in this study. Results indicated that emotional intelligence skills has significant positive correlations with self-esteem in decision making and vigilance sub-dimension of decision making styles (p<.001), whereas buck-passing, procrastination and hypervigilance sub-dimensions of decision making styles have significant negative correlations with emotional intelligence skills. In addition, emotional intelligence skills were found to the predictor of self-esteem in decision making and all sub-dimensions of decision making styles.
