The first aim of this research was to examine the relationships between decision making behaviors and self esteem perceived problem solving skills in adolescents and to investigate the contributions of self esteem and problem solving İn predicting of decision making behaviors decision making styles decisional self esteem decisional stress The second aim of the study was to examine the effects of socio demographic variables such as gender grade level kind of schools parent educational level and parent’s job on decision making behaviors For this purpose Decision Making Questionnaire Radford et al 1993 Self Esteem Inventory Coopersmith 1967 and Problem Solving Inventory Heppner 1982 were administered to Sıl adolescents 276 female and 235 male The findings revealed that decision making behaviors were positively correlated with self esteem and perceived problem solving skills On the other hand self esteem general social academic home family and perceived problem solving skills were significant predictors of decision making behaviors decision making styles decisional self esteem and decisional stress In the study another important result was the significant correlations among decision making behaviors and gender kind of school s father’s occupation Keywords: Adolescence decision making behaviors problem solving self esteem socio demographic variables
