Abstract:

The –gın suffix, which is second singular subject imperative in Çağatayca, is being used with the expansion as –gınan in Van Lake area dialects. This suffix, which is not used in Turkey Turkish today, is also being used in New Uighur, Uzbek written language. We are going to emphasis on this subject in our research. The –gıl suffix, which is second singular subject imperative had been used in the Old Turkish and Middle Turkish periods. The suffix, which has taken many forms in many Turkish languages throughout centuries, is no longer used in written language today. İn this study, we have focused on the usage of this suffix in Turkish languages from the past to present, the studies on Van lake area dialects has been examined and the frequency of its usage has been presented with many examples.
