Abstract:

“Square” Culture in Cities of Anatolian Seljuks Historical places which find their existence in their own living period are living memories which reflects full extent of that location. As an instance of this, squares are various common intellects which reflect the imaginable identity of a city. In piazzas where the soul of the city is sheltered, comprehension of existing civilized culture is exposed through nascence of civilization. The history of squares which constitute an essential part of social life is not recent. It is as ancient as settlements, and as other entities hosted within its texture. One of the essential elements which constitute Seljuqid cities is square. Square becomes prominent as sort of component of a city culture which brings all individuals together from Seljuqid Sultans to community. This article tries to investigate characteristics of the squares located in Seljuqid cities within the geography of Khorasan and especially Anatolia through a methodical framework. Thus, from this perspective, it is aimed to make contribution by elucidating all historical political and social developments
