Abstract:

As a result of the systems implemented in many countries, including Turkey, the success of students is assessed on the basis of performance in certain exam. Therefore, the preparation of questions in various exams in accordance with certain criteria should also be aimed at developing students' superior thinking skills. The aim of this study is to make a comparative analysis by classifying the evaluation questions at the units of the 9th class geography curriculum and the 9th class geography exam questions of the geography teachers who work in high schools in different centers of our country and the 9th class geography subjects that came out in the 2008-2009 U.S.S. exam, according to the stages of Bloom Taksonomy. The document examination resulted in 222 book questions, 233 teacher exam questions and 11 U.S.S. questions. According to Bloom Taksonomy’s procedure, the assessment result has been determined that teachers’ exam questions and book questions are largely made up of questions in the information stage, but the SSS questions are concentrated in the understanding category. The questions in the analysis, synthesis and evaluation stages that will help students develop their superior thinking skills are partly included in the exam and balancedly distributed, however, the teacher's exam questions and in the curriculum are almost not included.
