5. Sınıf Öğrencilerinin Güneş, Dünya ve Ay Konularına Yönelik Algıları

Abstract:

Araştırmada “güneş, dünya ve ay” konularına yönelik olarak öğrencilerin başarılarının ve kavram yanılgılarının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Genel tarama modeli türlerinden olan tekil tarama modeli kullanılarak yürütülen araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 5. sınıfta öğrenim gören 102 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Veriler, 5 açık uçlu sorudan oluşan Başarı Testi kullanılarak “Güneş, Dünya ve Ay” ünitesi işlendikten sonra toplanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler “anlaşılmama”, “belirli bir kavram yanılgısı”, “belirli bir kavram yanılgısıyla kısmen anlama”, “kısmen anlama” ve “tam anlama” kategorilerine göre değerlendirilerek gruplanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda öğrencilerin güneş, dünya ve ayın şekli ile büyüklükleri konusunda yeterli bilgiye sahip oldukları belirlenmiştir. Ancak öğrencilerin dünya ve ayın hareketleri, gece ve gündüz oluşumu, dünyadan bakıldığında ay ve güneşin aynı büyüklükte görünmesinin nedenine yönelik olarak gerekli başarıyı gösteremedikleri ve bu konularda bir takım kavram yanılgılarına sahip oldukları belirlenmiştir.

Abstract:

The study aims to identify the students’ successes and conceptual errors towards the topics of "the sun, the earth and the moon". The study group of the study conducted using the single scan model, which is of the general scan model types, consists of 102 students studying in the 5th class. The data was collected after the processing of the "Sun, Earth and Moon" unit using the 5 open end questions composed of the Success Test. The obtained data is grouped by the categories "not understood", "specific concept error", "partly understood with a particular concept error", "partly understood" and "complete understanding". The research finds that students have sufficient knowledge about the form and size of the sun, the earth and the moon. But the students have not been able to show the necessary success in the direction of the movements of the earth and the moon, the formation of the night and the day, the reason why the moon and the sun appear in the same size from the earth, and they have a number of conceptual errors in these subjects.

The aim of the research is to determine the students' success and misconceptions about the sun, earth and moon. The study group of the research, which was conducted by using the single screening model which is one of the general screening model types, consisted of 102 students studying in the fifth grade. The data were obtained by Achievement Test consisting of 5 open-ended questions. The obtained data were grouped according to categories of “no understanding”, “specific misconception”, “partial understanding with a specific misconception”, “partial understanding” and “sound understanding”. As a result of the research, it was determined that the students do not have enough knowledge about the movements of the earth and the moon, the formation of day and night, the reason of the moon and the sun appearing in the same size from the world and they have some misconceptions about these subjects.
