Abstract:

The geological and geomorphological conditions of our country offer many significant differences in terms of the wealth of the forms of the earth formed to us. Geologically, the youthful state of Turkey has risen, and the inclination conditions have to form many specific forms in geomorphological terms. One of the special shapes of this young land that is located on the streams is the waters. In our country in recent years, especially with the advance of alternative tourism activities, natural formations have increasingly started to attract attention. These natural formations have become more preferred by tourists in recent years and have a positive impact on the economic income of the places they are located. The Tekke Falls, which is the subject of our research, is also one of our natural resources that can be planned as an important tourist destination for our country with the tourist potential that it hosts around. This research was carried out with the aim of revealing the physical and human geographical characteristics of the Tekke Falls and its surrounding area and bringing this area to tourism. The research was first done with office studies, preliminary examinations, and literature was scanned. The observations made in this area, which are located within the border of Gümüşhane or Tekke Village, have been recorded with the physical geographical characteristics of the Tekke Falls and data related to the tourist potential of the surrounding area near the waterfall. The data of the research was obtained from field observations in the Tekke Falls pool in August 2018. In the field detections were used altimeters, GPS and camera. The maps of the field of research are created by combining information observed with the techniques of Geographic Information Systems (CBS).  These maps have been obtained by the MTA and Map General Command (1:25.000, 1:100.000 and 1: 500.000 scale) field topography, geology maps, using the maps.
