Abstract:

The aim of this research is to determine the level of awarding the qualifications included in the secondary education curricula "communication in the mother tongue, learning, social skills, initiative and entrepreneurship, cultural awareness and expression" according to the teachers' opinions. Quantitative and qualitative research methods have been used together. Quantitative data of the study have been collected from 216 teachers who work in the secondary education institutions at the Mardin Illi Artuklu District Center, scale of the qualifications included in the teaching programmes. The quality data of the study was obtained using the interview form from 50 teachers within the same work group. The level of provision of qualifications has been determined that the average is similar to the gender variable and that it occurs at the "render" level. There is no significant difference between the gender and branch variables between the teachers' opinions. According to the professional background, a significant difference between learning and the subdimensions of social competence has been identified. In the study, teachers have shown that they use a student-centered approach to acquire qualifications, take advantage of technology, perform oral narrative activities, take advantage of visual and hearing materials, and work with the group. Teachers have expressed that in the process of acquiring these qualifications they face problems from the student, from the educational system, from the teacher and from the family and the social environment.
