Abstract:

The concept of emotional intelligence that Daniel Goleman puts on the forefront and is now approved by today’s is becoming more and more valuable. In the business life, it creates feelings the important element in the mutual influence of the groups who receive and provide services. In the needs of our time, the service providers are obliged to take the desired direction by using their personal feelings equal to the reward they receive, influencing the feelings of the service area. The general purpose of the study is to determine the relationship between the dimension of emotional intelligence and communication skills. In this direction, the concepts of emotional intelligence and communication have been studied in theoretical framework and tried to reveal the relationship between them. For the purpose of supporting the study, the application sample was implemented and the Schutte Emotional Intelligence Scale and Communication Skills Scale were applied to 505 offices employees in seven major companies operating in the logistics industry to carry out this measurement. The results are statistically calculated. The results of the analyses found a meaningful relationship between the dimensions of communication skills according to all the dimensions called total emotional intelligence. It is believed that the establishment of a healthy emotional intelligence training plan on the identification of the level of emotional intelligence that directly affects communication skills will provide more positive results in practice and within the industry.
