Abstract:

Today, political parties that support the radical and populist right-wing ideology in the European society appear to have a rapidly growing mass support. This increase in social support shows that the radical right-wing ideology, which has been quite weakened and marginalized in post-war European politics due to the tragic consequences of the Second World War, has begun to normalize in political formation, though in different forms. Since the obvious signs of this normalization have increased since the last quarter of the 20th century in Europe the discourse of the central right and central left parties in line with the radical and populist right ideology. This study aims to illuminate why and how the radical and populist right-wing ideology in European politics normalized and increased its mass support. This framework focuses on the content of the new right-wing stream that emerged in the 1960s and led to a renewal in the radical right-wing ideology. The study also focused on the phenomena of globalization, migration and neoliberal economic formation that have led to serious economic, social and political crises in the European society since the 1970s.
