Abstract:

It is the product of the period in which the teaching programs in the Republic of Turkey were radically renewed according to the principles of education science. The Class History Course Teaching Program was published in 2007 and has been in force until 2017. Published in 2017 and updated in 2018 in the 9-11 Teaching Program, the facts to be observed in the writing of the curriculum are included. The objective of this research is to determine how much the items under the title "Specificities to be taken into account in the writing of the curriculum" included in the history course curriculum, were performed in the writing of the 9th class history curriculum published in 2017 by MEB. In the research methods of quality research is used document examination. The research data were obtained from the first product written in accordance with the Secondary Education History Course 9-11 Teaching Program published in 2017, 1,354,199 copies printed by MEB and as a single book presented to all students in the 9th class. The data obtained from the curriculum as a result of the analysis of written and visual content; qualified preparation studies, visual and literary product use, conceptual teaching, event design, the acquisition of historical skills, measurement and evaluation studies, the use of basic and current resources in the curriculum of the curriculum of the curriculum of the curriculum of the curriculum of the curriculum of the curriculum of the curriculum of the curriculum of the curriculum of the curriculum of the curriculum of the curriculum of the curriculum of the curriculum of the curriculum of the curriculum of the curriculum.

Abstract:

The Ninth Grade History Curriculum, which is a product of the period in which the curricula have been radically changed in accordance with the principles of pedagogy in the Republic of Turkey, was published in 2007 and remained in force until 2017. The High School Grades 9-11 History Curriculum, published in 2017 and updated in 2018, involves points to consider in writing textbooks. This study aims to determine to what degree the points contained under “Points to Consider in Writing Textbooks” included in the history curriculum are fulfilled in the ninth-grade history textbook published in 2017 by the Ministry of National Education of Turkey. In the present study, out of qualitative research methods, document analysis method was used. The data of the present study were obtained from the history textbook, which was the first product written based on the High School Grades 9-11 History Curriculum published in 2017, was printed 1,354,199 copies by the Ministry of National Education of Turkey, and was offered to all ninth-grade students as a single book. The data acquired from the textbook through analysis of written and visual content show that the points to consider specified in the curriculum with regards to quality preparatory work, use of visuals and literary products, teaching of concepts, design of activities, introduction of historical skills, assessment and evaluation activities, and use of basic and up-to-date resources are not fulfilled enough.
