Abstract:

Sanayi devrimiyle gerccedil;ekleşen şehirleşme hareketi, Tuuml;rkiye'de kendini 1950'li yıllarda gouml;stermiş ve bu suuml;reccedil; yeni şehirlerin ortaya ccedil;ıkmasıyla devam etmiştir. Var olan şehirlerin ouml;nemli bir kısmı bu suuml;reccedil;ten nuuml;fuslanma, sanayileşme, alansal buuml;yuuml;me, iş ve ticaret sahaları yaratma, istihdam ve benzeri ouml;zellikler accedil;ısından etkilenmişlerdir. Ancak bu hızlı suuml;reccedil; şehirlerin fonksiyonel yapısını temelden değiştirirken, duuml;şuuml;k nitelikli konut, ccedil;arpık şehirleşme, ccedil;evre sorunları, guuml;ruuml;ltuuml;, hava kirliliği, sanayi atıkları ve işsizlik gibi sorunların da ortaya ccedil;ıkmasına neden olmuştur. Bu bağlamda Batman gibi modern duuml;nyanın en temel enerji kaynağı olan petrol uuml;zerine şekillenen, hızlı gelişen ve değişen şehirlerde, kentleşme ve kentlileşme kavramları henuuml;z tam olarak oluşamadığından; sosyal, ekonomik, kuuml;ltuuml;rel ve politik alanlarda yapısal sorunlar ortaya ccedil;ıkmıştır. Bu ccedil;alışmada, 1955 yılı genel nuuml;fus sayımı sonuccedil;larına gouml;re 4713 nuuml;fuslu bir bucak olan Batman'ın, Tuuml;rkiye'deki şehirleşme hareketiyle yaşıt bir suuml;reccedil; iccedil;erisinde buuml;yuuml;k bir şehre nasıl douml;nuuml;ştuuml;ğuuml;, hem mekacirc;nsal, değişim hem de bu zaman aralığında gerccedil;ekleştirdiği fonksiyonel ouml;zellikler accedil;ısından incelenmektedir. Şuuml;phesiz bu işlenirken hızlı değişimin getirdiği sosyo-ekonomik ve sosyo-kuuml;ltuuml;rel olumsuzlukların şehri nasıl etkilediği ve TPAO'nun bu suuml;recin neresinde olduğu tartışılmaktadır. Available cities have been influenced from this process in terms of population, industry, growing in specific area and creating business and trade employment opportunities. However, this rapid process has not only basically changed the functional structure of the city, but also caused the low quality house, crooked urbanization, environmental problems, air pollution, industrial waste and unemployment problems. In this regard, since the phenomena of urban and urbanization has not been known well in cities like Batman which is shaped on the base of petroleum as the basic energy resource of modern world, developed rapidly and changed, the structural problems in social, economic, cultural and political areas have been emerged. This study investigates both how the city of Batman whose population 4713 in the census of 1955 as a small town has been converted from a city in the urbanization process from the view of her functional characteristics in this time period and spatial changing. There is no doubt that the influence of social- economic and social- cultural problems aroused from the rapid changing on the city and the position of Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) in this process are also discussed.
