Abstract:

With the study, the adaptation process of a production company in the furniture sector in Düzce was examined and the problems were determined that experienced while trying to adapt its activities that it will transition into to the new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. The problems experienced were evaluated using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method, one of the Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods. Actively involved in the transition to the ERP system in the enterprise where the research is carried out during the determination of the problems; In addition to the opinions of employees and managers with the literature review for the study was also used. As a result of the evaluation made with the AHP method, related to the business examined; “Difficulties and errors in data entry into the new ERP system”, “Problems in the process of transferring data”, “Disconnection between units”, “Difficulties in running two jobs together with existing jobs during the transition to the ERP system” and “Insufficient support and consultancy services during the adaptation process” problems have been detected. In addition, an exemplary study has been presented showing that MCDM methods can be used in the performance evaluation of ERP systems by presenting solutions for the identified problems. In this respect, it is thought that the study might be a guide especially for business managers and researchers who are interested in the subject
