Abstract:

The aim of this study is to evaluate the learning outcomes on peace, human rights and democracy education in primary and secondary school programs in accordance with UNESCO’s peace, human rights and democracy education goals. For this purpose, research has been used by the content analysis method guided by the quality research methods. The research data is obtained from the teaching programmes of primary and secondary school courses through the method of document examination. Selective courses, compulsory and selective foreign language courses are not included in the study. On the other hand, the obligatory lessons taught in the imam hatip high school were also taken into the scope of the study. According to this study, the teaching program of a total of 19 courses, including 4 primary schools, 8 secondary schools, 7 primary schools and secondary schools, which were implemented in the spring period of the 2019-2020 educational year, was studied with keywords determined according to the expert opinions; all the learning outcomes through which the keywords were listed according to the courses and class level. The research has found that, in addition to primary mathematics, science, information technology and software courses, primary and secondary school courses have learning outcomes related to peace, human rights and democracy education in their teaching programs but do not provide qualifications in the context of UNESCO’s goals.
