Abstract:

The aim of this study is to determine the place and importance of non-class activities in the feelings of belonging to the school of the students of the National Professional High School of the University of Bartin. The study included a total of 126 students, including 36 women and 90 men, selected by the full number sample method. The data was developed by the researchers and obtained by an survey form consisting of four sections (personal information, the status of participation in non-class events, the feeling of belonging to the school and the liquid scale of suggestions and opinions on non-class events). Students participate in non-class activities that affect the feelings of belonging to the school and whether there is a differentiation between the variables of the student's knowledge using the frequency analysis, t test, one-way variance analysis. According to the results, most of the students (63%) participated in non-class activities at their own desire. Also, 88.9% of students believe that non-class activities contribute to the feelings of belonging to the school. Therefore, out-of-class activities lead to positive effects on the feelings of school membership of students. Therefore, it is necessary to participate in non-class social activities that will help students increase their feelings of belonging to the school and to take measures to develop these feelings. The continuation of learning from students for out-of-class events to be carried out, the conduct of these activities within a specific plan and the support of the participation in courses that will contribute to the personal development of the students can contribute to the feeling of belonging to the school of students.
