Günümüzde karmaşıklaşan iş yaşamında seçeneklerin artması ve uzmanlık alanlarının gelişmesiyle beraber kariyer kararı süreci zorlaşmaktadır. Kültür, cinsiyet, eğitim politikaları ve mesleklerin gelişim düzeyleri gibi faktörler toplumdan topluma değişiklik gösterse de genel anlamda kariyer üzerinde etkili olmaktadır. Bunun yanı sıra bireylerin yaşam tarzı, sosyoekonomik düzeyi, değer, yetenek ve ilgileri bir yandan kariyer kararını desteklerken diğer yandan da bazı engeller oluşturabilmektedir. Bütün bu değişkenler bir araya geldiğinde kariyer kararı vermek zor bir hale gelmektedir. Bu çalışmada, öğretmen adaylarının kariyer kararlarının algılanan kariyer engelleri ve kariyer geleceği açısından ele alınması amaçlanmıştır. Verilerin toplanması amacıyla iki devlet üniversitesinin eğitim fakültesinde öğrenim gören 383’ü kadın, 116’sı erkek olmak üzere toplam 499 öğrenciye Kariyer Kararı Ölçeği, Algılanan Kariyer Engelleri Ölçeği ve Kariyer Geleceği Ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Yapılan t testi sonuçlarına göre Kariyer Kararı Ölçeği’nin bilinçsiz kariyer kararı ve çevresel etmenler alt boyutlarında, Algılanan Kariyer Engelleri Ölçeğinin tüm alt boyutlarında ve Kariyer Geleceği Ölçeği’nin bilgi alt boyutunda erkeklerin lehine, iyimserlik alt boyutunda ise kadınların lehine anlamlı düzeyde farklılık bulunmuştur. Pearson korelasyon analizi sonucunda ise kariyer kararı alt ölçek puanları ile algılanan kariyer engelleri ve kariyer geleceği ölçeklerinin alt ölçek puanları arasında anlamlı ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca çoklu regresyon analizine göre Algılanan Kariyer Engelleri Ölçeğinde cinsiyet ayrımcılığı, yetenek ve ilgi azlığı ile ilgili etmenler, motivasyon eksikliği ve yetersiz hazırlanma, aile ve çevre etkisi alt ölçek puanları ile kariyer engelleri ölçeğinin kariyer uyumluluğu alt ölçek puanı kariyer kararındaki toplam varyansın %65 yordamaktadır.
Nowadays, with the increase in options and the development of the fields of expertise in the complex business life, the career decision-making process becomes more difficult. Factors such as culture, gender, educational policies and the level of development of the professions change from society to society, but generally affect the career. In addition, the lifestyle, socio-economic level, values, talents and interests of individuals, on the one hand, support a career decision while on the other hand, can create some obstacles. When all of these variables come together, it becomes difficult to make a career decision. In this study, the aim is to address the career decisions of teachers candidates from the perspective of recognised career barriers and career future. For the purpose of collecting data, 383 students who studied at the educational faculty of two state universities, including women, 116 men, have been applied to a total of 499 career decision scale, detected career obstacles scale and career future scale. According to the results of the test, the unconscious career decision and environmental factors of the Career Decision Scale have found significant differences in the underdimensions of the Career Disadvantages Scale and the knowledge underdimensions of the Career Future Scale in favor of men, and the optimism underdimensions in favor of women. The Pearson correlation analysis found a significant relationship between the low scale scale scale scale scale scale scale scale scale scale scale scale scale scale scale scale. Moreover, according to multiple regression analysis, the scale of Career Disorders Detected is gender discrimination, skill and lack of interest factors, lack of motivation and insufficient preparation, family and environmental impact scale of low scale scale and career disorders scale of career compatibility scale of low scale scale scale is processed by 65% of the total variation of career decision.
The increasing options of complex work life and expanding professions, as well as the career decision process today are challenging. Individuals can face various barriers that can impact their career future and their whole life. Although factors such as culture, gender, education policies, and occupational development levels change between societies, these factors are generally affect careers. Additionally, lifestyle, socio-economic level, value, skills, and interest of individuals both support career decisions and may also create certain barriers. When all these variables are combined, a career decision can be challenging. In this study, the purpose is to consider the career decisions of teacher candidates in terms of perceived career barriers and career futures. For data collection, the Career Decision Scale, Perceived Career Barriers Scale and Career Future Scale were applied to a total of 499 students in the education faculties of two public universities among which 383 were female and 116 were male. Based on the t-test results, it is found that unconscious career decisions and the environmental factors are sub-dimensions of the career decision scale; all subdimensions of career barriers and the knowledge sub-dimension of career futures are in favour of male participants while the optimism sub-dimension of career futures is in favour of female participants. Based on the Pearson correlation analysis results, a significant relationship was identified between the career decision sub-scale scores and the sub-scale scores of perceived career barriers and career future scales. Additionally, based on a multiple regression analysis, in perceived career-barrier scale factors such as gender discrimination, factors related with skill and lack of interest, lack of motivation and insufficient preparation, effects of family and environment predicted 65% of the scale and in career barriers scale, career compatibility predicted 65% of total variance of career decisions.
