Bu araştırmada dikkat, algı ve bellek becerilerinin kullanılmasını içeren toplamda 12 oturum ve 45 etkinlikten oluşan bilişsel gelişim eğitim programının 5-6 yaş çocuklarının dikkat, algı ve bellek gelişimlerine etkisinin incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda araştırmanın örneklemine Ankara’da bir okul öncesi eğitim kurumuna devam eden 24 çocuk dahil edilmiştir. Ön test-son test kontrol gruplu deneysel desen kullanarak tasarlanan araştırmada çocukların 12’si deney grubuna alınırken 12’si kontrol grubuna alınmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen genel bilgi formunun yanı sıra dikkat, algı, bellek becerilerinin kullanımını içeren bilişsel gelişim değerlendirme formu kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Bilişsel gelişim değerlendirme formunda toplamda 19 madde bulunmakta olup, bu maddelerin yazımı esnasında dikkat, algı ve bellek becerilerinin alt bileşenlerini (uzun süreli bellek, kısa süreli bellek gibi) içermesine dikkat edilmiştir. Formdaki maddeleri çocukların yapıp yapamadığını değerlendirirken araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen materyaller kullanılmıştır. Veriler analiz edilirken grup içi karşılaştırmalarda Wilcoxen işaret testi kullanılırken, gruplar arası karşılaştırmalarda Mann-Whitney U testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda 5-6 yaş arasındaki 12 çocuğa verilen bilişsel gelişim eğitim programının çocukların dikkat, algı ve bellek gelişimleri üzerinde pozitif yönde anlamlı bir etkisinin bulunduğu saptanmıştır.
