Abstract:

Healthy eating habits in the pre-school period are fundamental in terms of the development of the child and in terms of prevention of nutritional problems that may arise in the subsequent stages. Therefore, the purpose of the research is to evaluate the dietary menus applied in pre-school institutions in terms of pre-school children's healthy nutrition. In this study, the method of document/document examination was used. In the study, the dietary menus were evaluated using the visual analysis technique. The study group is composed of 18 pre-school educational institutions located in the Van province. The menus of the institutions were gathered in May 2019 from 2 parental schools and 4 parental schools of each region that educate half-day from the regions of the lower, middle and upper socio-economic level. The research finds that the dietary menus differ from the socio-economic area in which the school is located. Schools in general have partly balanced their food groups according to the days of the week in all socio-economic groups. In the dietary menus, it is seen that all socio-economic groups are mainly included in cereal group foods.
