Bu araştırmanın amacı, gençlik ve spor il müdürlüğü yöneticilerinin mesleki benlik saygısı düzeylerine göre zihinsel engelli bireylerin sportif etkinliklerine yönelik tutumlarının incelenmesidir. Araştırmanın örneklem grubu, gençlik spor bakanlığına bağlı il, ilçe ve şube müdürlük görevi yapan, 14 kadın, 108 erkek olmak üzere toplam 122 spor yöneticisinden oluşmaktadır. Spor yöneticilerine, Arıcak (1999) tarafından geliştirilen Mesleki Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği ile İlhan, Esentürk ve Yarımkaya (2016) tarafından geliştirilen Zihinsel Engelli Bireylerin Sportif Etkinliklerine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde, Cronbach Alpha (α) analizi, Shapiro-Wilk testi, Mann-Whitney U ve Kruskal Wallis Testi kullanılmıştır. Sonuç olarak, spor yöneticilerinde, mesleki benlik saygısı ile cinsiyet değişkeni arasında anlamlı ilişki bulunmuştur. Erkek yöneticilerin, kadın yöneticilere göre mesleğin işlevselliğine olan inancı daha yüksektir. Engellilere yönelik eğitim alan spor yöneticilerinin mesleğin işlevselliğine olan inancı, eğitim almayan spor yöneticilerine göre daha yüksektir. Spor yöneticilerinin çalışma yılı, ailede engelli birey olma durumu, engellilere yönelik spor eğitimi alma, mezun olduğu okul, görev değişkenleri ile zihinsel engelli bireylerin sportif etkinliklerine yönelik genel tutumları arasında anlamlı farklılık bulunmuştur. Ailede engelli birey olan spor yöneticileri, zihinsel engelli bireylerin sportif etkinliklerine katılımına olumlu tutum sergilemektedir. Engellilere yönelik spor eğitimi alan spor yöneticilerinin, zihinsel engelli bireylerin sportif etkinliklerine katılımına olumlu yönde tutum göstermektedir. Spor bilimleri alanından mezun olan spor yöneticilerinin zihinsel engelli bireylerin sportif etkinliklere katılımına yönelik genel tutumlarının olumlu yönde yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir.
The aim of this study is to study the attitudes of the youth and sports district directors to the sports activities of mental disabled individuals according to their level of professional self-respect. The sample group of the study consists of a total of 122 sports managers, including 14 women and 108 men, who are responsible for the province, district and branch management of the youth sports ministry. At the sport managers, the professional self-esteem scale developed by Arıcak (1999) and the attitude scale developed by Ilhan, Esentürk and Halımkaya (2016) was applied to the sports events of mental disabled individuals. In the assessment of the data, Cronbach Alpha (α) analysis, Shapiro-Wilk test, Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis test were used. As a result, in sports managers, there was a meaningful relationship between professional self-esteem and gender variable. Men’s managers have a greater confidence in the functionality of the profession than women’s managers. The belief in the functionality of the profession of sports managers who are trained for disabled persons is higher than the belief in non-trained sports managers. There have been significant differences between the year of work of sports managers, the condition of being a disabled person in the family, taking sports education for disabled people, the school where they graduated, the variables of tasks and the general attitudes of mentally disabled individuals towards sports activities. Sports managers, who are a family disabled person, demonstrate a positive attitude towards the participation of mental disabled individuals in sports activities. Sports managers who receive sports training for persons with disabilities have a positive attitude towards the participation of mental disabilities in sports activities. The overall attitude of sports managers graduated from the field of sports sciences to the participation of mental disabilities in sports events has been determined to be positive.
The aim of this research is to investigate the attitudes of mentally retarded individuals according to the occupational self-esteem levels of the administrators of the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports. The sample group of the research, 122 (N) volunteers, 14 (N) female and 108 (N) male, who work as sport managers at the provincial directorates of youth and sports of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, participated in this research. Sports Self-Esteem Scale and Attitude Scale developed by Arıcak (1999) towards Sportive Activities of Individuals with Mentally Handicapped develeped by İlhan, Esentürk ve Yarımkaya (2016) were applied to sport managers. During the evaluation of the collected data, Crombach Alpha Analysis, Shapiro-Wilk Test, Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis Test were used. As a result, in sport managers, a significant relationship was found between the self-esteem and gender variable. Male administrators’ belief in the functionality of the profession was higher when compared to female administrators. Sport managers who had trainings related to disabilities showed a higher belief in the functionality of the profession comparing to those who had not taken the trainings. A significant difference was found between the sports managers’ variables, such as working period, whether a disabled person exists in the family, having sports training based on people with disabilities, the graduated school, duties, and mentally retarded individuals’ attitudes towards participating in sports events. The sports managers who have disabled family members perform positive attitude towards mentally retarded individuals’ participating in sports events. The sports managers who had taken trainings based on people with disabilities showed positive attitude towards mentally retarded individuals’ participating in sports events.
