Öğrencilerde Spor Durumu ve Yaş Kategorisine Göre Dikkat Düzeylerinin Karşılaştırılması
2020
Journal:
Turkish Studies
Author:
Abstract:

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to compare the levels of attention in students aged 10-15 according to gender, fitness and age category. 100 girls and 116 boys between the ages of 10 and 10 were included in the study. For two-category comparisons between groups, the student t-test and for age category, the one-way Varians analysis and LSD tests were performed. In comparison of D2 attention test points by gender, statistical differences were found between psychomotor speed, selective attention level, concentration performance and total test performance points (p<0,05). On the contrary, the difference between the specific learning strengths of the test scores was unimportant (p>0,05). In the comparison of D2 Attention test points according to age variable, statistically differences were found between psychomotor speed, selective attention level, concentration performance, specific learning strength and total Test performance points (p<0,05 and p<0,001). The comparison of D2 Attention test scores between athletes and non-athletes found statistically differences between psychomotor speed, selective attention level, concentration performance, special learning strength and total Test performance scores (p<0,05 and p<0,001). The result: the girls’ psychomotor speed scores, concentration performance and total test performance were higher than the men’s students, and the selective attention levels were lower. The attention test scores of the 14-15-year-old group were better than the first group (10-11 years) and the second group (12-13 years). The age group is an outcome that is expected to find better attention test points for those who are bigger. The total number of signed figures processed in girls is more than men. That is, the psychomotor speed in girls is better than in men. The number of figures jumped unmarked is less in girls than in men. Men’s selective attention level is lower than girls. The D2 attention test scores of students who do sports are higher than those who do not actively sports. Students who do not actively do sports will be able to increase their level of attention by directing them to sports activities. It is recommended that children be physically more active.

Comparison Of Attention Levels According To Sport Status and Age Category In Students
2020

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to compare the attention levels according to gender, sporting status and age category in 10-15 year old students. A total of 216 students (100 girls and 116 boys) aged between 10-15 years were included in the study. Student's t-test was used for paired categorical comparisons between groups, and one-way ANOVA and LSD tests were performed for age category. In comparison of D2 attention test scores according to gender, there was a statistically significant difference between psychomotor speed, selective attention level, concentration performance and total test performance scores (p <0.05). On the other hand, the difference between special learning disability test scores was insignificant (p> 0.05). In comparison of D2 Attention test scores according to age variable, there was a statistically significant difference between psychomotor speed, selective attention level, concentration performance, special learning incompetence and total Test Performance scores (p <0.05 and p <0.001). In comparison of the D2 Attention test scores between the sports and non-sports, a statistically significant difference was found between psychomotor speed, selective attention level, concentration performance, specific learning disability and total Test Performance scores (p <0.05 and p <0.001). Conclusion: Psychomotor speed scores, concentration performance and total test performance of female students were found higher than male students and selective attention level was found lower. Attention test scores of the 14-15 age group were found to be better than the first group (10-11 years) and the second group (12-13 years). Attention test scores of the older ones are expected to be found better. The total number of marked figures processed in girls is higher than boys. In other words, psychomotor speed is better in boys than in boys. On the other hand, the number of figures skipped figured is lower in girls than in boys. Selective attention level is lower in boys than in girls. D2 attention test scores of students doing sports are higher than those who do not actively exercise. It is thought that it may increase the attention levels of students who do not actively do sports by directing them to sports activities. It is recommended that children are physically encouraged to be more active.
